Pousada Rainha dos Anjos

One enters the Pousada Rainha dos Anjos from the street, throught a gate and up a driveway planted with geraniums and potted plants to the reception area and parking garage.

The pousada itself is behind the garage and guestroom windows and the breakfast room salon face away from the street, for great panoramic views. The central location is excellent as a base for either exploring Mariana or other nearby attractions. Pousada Rainha dos Anjos is simply, but tastefully decorated.

Guestrooms are bright and spacious with traditional wooden furniture. The breakfast room is large and open with one wall of windows looking out to the surrounding mountains. It is decorated with several antique pieces, and decorative accents typical of the region: carved wooden cherubs, wrought iron lamps and candle sconces, paintings of Mariana, and includes a small sitting area with rustic wood and leather sofa and chairs. Cachaça and liqueurs are offered to guests as a courtesy.

The kitchen is of open design so you can watch your breakfast and afternoon tea being prepared – all the delicious quitandas and quitutes are baked on site.
