Pousada Vila Mineira

The Pousada Vila Mineria opened in 2006. The architectural project and hence the name, Mineiran Village, was conceived in keeping with the traditions of both Lavras Novas and the region – the main lodge a modern interpretation of a “casa de bandeirantes”, or house of one of the gold-era fortune hunters, and the guest apartments configured as a series of charming, colorful cottages, built side by side, this time along the slopes of the pousada garden instead of a village street.

The open and spacious main lodge is built of stone, wood, glass, with glazed cement floors with tile accents and houses reception and the Pimenta Rosa restaurant on the top floor and winecellar, giftshop with regional handcrafts, breakfast room and various sitting areas with fireplace and TV on the floor below with access to guest accommodations and the garden, planted with a variety of native species and attractively appointed with various tables and benches. The feel is comfortable and informal. Verandas with balustrades of painted wood wrap around the lodge on two side of both floors.

The pousada is a great base from which to explore Lavras Novas, the natural attractions and the historic cities of the region, or just to relax and take in the views. Hikes to nearby waterfalls and reservoirs, exploring on dirt bike or ATV trails, canoeing, rappelling, and other eco-sports are offered by local guides.
