The Pousada da Chácara is the perfect peaceful hideaway to return to after a busy day of sightseeing, or even for the business traveller retreating from a long day. It is easy to forget you are in a city. There are no sounds of traffic, but the occasional cluck or bark of one of the resident chickens or family dogs will remind you of the peace you are enjoying. The soothing water rhythms of the pool’s cascade partner perfectly with the unobstructed vista of green mountains against the dark blue sky.
When you approach the entrance and reception area of Pousada da Chácara up a driveway, there is a wall encrypted with poetry on one side, featuring panels with verses about Mariana by local poets, old and new. The main lodge is adorned with a cosy living room fireplace and television, library and breakfast room where a typical breakfast of coffee, juice, fruits, ham, cheese, variety of breads, cakes and sweet and savory goodies are served.
Guestrooms are located in three different buildings around the well-equipped grounds that include various leisure and recreational options for travellers, including a patio with pergola, pool and jacuzzi deck, a barbeque pavilion with everything and anything you would need, a peteca court, hammocks, and even a walking trail.

Pet Policy: Small dogs are accepted, but please be advised that the owners have dogs and free-range chickens and guinea hens on the hotel property.
- Cancellations must be made at least 15 days in advance.
- If a group, you must cancel at least 30 days before date of arrival.
- In case of no-show, will be charged a daily fee.
- Up to 15: Fine of 15% of the reservation.
- Up to 72 Hours: Fine of 100% of reservation value.
- Less than 72 hours: Fine of 100% of reservation value.
- No refund will be given for the deposit, the balance (if any) will be available as credit for future accommodation for a period of 06 months from the date of issue.
