Meet the team

Ramon Leite was born in Belo Horizonte and first visited Ouro Preto when he was a child. He grew up visiting Ouro Preto and his relatives there and over the years has become quite familiar with the city and its gorgeous natural surroundings. After managing several businesses in Belo Horizonte, he finally moved to Ouro Preto with a vision to shed light on this region for the world to see. Ramon says "Ouro Preto is perhaps one of the most famous historical cities in the world. It has been the state capital of Minas Gerais and holds very important historical collections. Aliar Tourism seeks to present this vast collection to the world in a responsible manner and above all, with professionalism."

Rayana Carolina was born is a small city near Ouro Preto. She joined the Aliar team about one year ago. She is almost finished with her education in Tourism at the Federal University of Ouro Preto - UFOP. Rayana is responsible for the operational part of the agency and helps travellers find the best deals in the city.

Marcela Martins is originally from Cataguases in Minas Gerais, a city famous for its artistic and modern architectural heritage. Marcela is a history major and she worked for seven years in the Cataguases Secretary of Culture and Tourism developing projects. She was also responsible for the coordination of the Tourist Information Centre. In Ouro Preto, Marcela has been working as a part of the Aliar Turismo team searching for new ways to portray the city to travellers. Marcela says "Ouro Preto has centuries of history and it's a pleasure to work here and discover a new secret every day, and then to turn and bestow this knowledge onto our guests." Marcela is working towards her master's degree at UFOP in Baroque art and culture, and has tremendous interest in safeguarding Ouro Preto's heritage to see it preserved for future generations.
