Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative:
Hotel Pousada do Arcanjo is seriously committed to responsible tourism. The hotel is part of the Sustainable Tourism Certification Program run by the Brazilian Government. This program demands some changes in the hotel management. Therefore, Hotel Pousada do Arcanjo must recycle waste. Further, all products used in the establishment from food to cleaning products must be certified. The hotel also hires people from Ouro Preto (locals) and constantly trains them.
